"Across the universe" the Beatles

Three images from this song that I identified are from the "universe" the image of space and stars also the images of people laughing and ran from "pouring rain".

No, noe of these images are symbols in context.

One image that I know to be a symbol is Jesus on the cross. It is the image of him dying and a symbol of Christianity

"Inspiration of Information" by: Shuggie Otis

The overall feel of this song is a groovy, relaxed, very happy mood. The rhythm and electronic beat of the song is upbeat and a moderate fast tempo. The musicians had to make choices on what instruments to use, the tempo and rhythm of the song, and they had to review and revise it many times.

"Semadores" by: Diego Rivera

I believe the subject of the painting is the hard work of farming in the older Hispanic countries. The occasion of this painting seems to be in a Hispanic country (most likely Mexico) around early to middle 1900's. The audience of this painting most likely the middle to lower working class people. The purpose of the painting is to show the toil and hardship of not only farming but all the tough jobs the lower class take to make ends meet. The speaker is Diego Rivera. The tone of this painting is positive out of respect to the hardworking people all over the world. The artist wanted the audience to think about the hard work and toil of the harvest. He used a strenuous stretchy type of stroke which emphasized stress, also darker and neutral colors. The workers are also positioned away. The style as I mentioned is unrealistic and stressed.

wilcos song creation process

Wilcos approach to creating a song starts with everyone in the band playing together to create that one song, then they can take that song apart and process it to make the song better and change it , or to create a new song from it.

My creative process for writing is first brainstorming and reading over or "researching" what I'm writing about. Once i have my main point or idea I form a thesis and topics for each paragraph and the conclusion. Once I have all of my thoughts together I put them in the order I'm going to write them on paper for a rough guide "draft". I write down my thesis, then I write the topic sentence for each paragraph and conclusion. Once I have this I begin my rough final draft. After that is finished, I edit and proofread , then complete the final draft.

what is nostalgia

Nostalgia is something that stands out for someone from the past, and a longing for someone or something from the past.
When I hear this music images from the movie grease come to my mind  especially when they are dancing. It also reminds me of the movie "Home alone" when he's singing in front of the mirror. It also reminds me of "The Sandlot", and an old movie where they're at the school dance or the ice cream parlor. Overall it reminds me of older happy times before I was born, and when my parents were younger.
When I think of my childhood the images that pop into my head are of ridin my bikes and tricycles. Going to Julius Marks. Playing on the playground, toys, kool aid, pizza, and chuck E. Cheeses.Sounds of kids laughing and screaming, sounds of plastic wheels rolling on concrete, feelngs of riding bikes, hot summer sun , barefoot, and going to the pool with cousins.

pinch of poverty painting

The major contributing factors to poverty are the economy, population to jobs ratio, vicious cycle of former familly generations in poverty stay in poverty, children, and government.

In the painting  "A pinch of poverty" the artist portrays poverty in a positive light by showing although the family is poor the girl has bright  flowers and is trying to make money and make the most of it.

I believe that the artists message is that povery affects all people and is real, and even families and little kids have to do what they can to survive and that poverty isn't all that bad.

The artists uses a realistic style f painting to portray how poverty is real. He or she also uses color contrast with light and dark contrast , using the bright yellow to show the good in poverty and the dark greys to show the consand realism.

poverty and child labor

After reading the articles and understanding views from multiple perspectives I am hesitant to say with my limited knowledge that I disagree with Divakaruni. After considering multiple scenarios and the effects they would have I decided the pros of the bill would outweigh the pros of not having the bill. Although Divakaruni does have a plausible point that the bill would take many children out of work which would mean out of food and starving on the street as well as a burden to their families. I also put into play the fact that the U.s is a primary consumer of these products produced by children. Without their primary consumer these companies would surely fail. So the next option would be to hire adults to work for them, and chances are many of these adults may be the parents of the previous child workers. In turn the parents would be making money and the children would be able to perform jobs the parents previously had such as farming. Although I may be completely wrong with this. I believe if it were to work this way the bill would be very positive.
I would also say that I disagree with Peter Singer in his essay.I believe that it is all in a chain of events similar to the food chain and sudden donations of money for something we aren't necessarily obliged to could upset economic systems  and other people's lives. I believe this money should go directly to something that would fix these problems once and for all by fixing governments and starting farming and education to these people in need. i Do not believe that200 dollars saves a childs life. It goes to the organization and then where does it go. straight to the kid/ is it  split up? thissystem is flaawed and needs major override.

Round and Round

In the song "Round and Round" the musical facts that i noticed during the song and wrote down were  ; the background chorus singers used harmony , and the whole song generally throughout had a medium slow tempo.
My opinion about the song was that it is a happy relaxing song that seems to be talking about the past good times. It is very interesting and I enjoyed it because of the chorus lines and the relaxing tempo.
The musical facts that I chose influence my opinion because there was harmony in the song that I enjoyed when the chorus singers sung together and that the tempo was medium slow it influenced how I believe it is relaxing and happy.
