"Shooting an Elephant" By:George Orwell SOAPSToned
Subject- I believe that the subject of "Shooting an Elephant" by George Orwell is not necessarily the process of shooting an elephant but the subject is that the British police officer is willing to disregard his morals in order to preserve what is left of his dignity, self image, and ego in Burma. Occasian- This occasian is the occasian of shooting an elephant which takes place in Moulmein, in lwer Burma sometime in 1936 Audience- I believe the audience of this fictional essay could be the British officers in Burma at that time, and or the audience could be the British tyrants r even just a person who went through a similar experience where they had to disregrd their moral values. Purpose- I believe that the purpose of this essay is to tell about how in life we all fae scenarios where we disobey our morals in order to stay cool and that many times when we think we are "cool" and on top in control that we are being controlled by this "cool". Speaker- The speaker of this essay is George Orwell but he is speaking as the voice of the British officer. Tone-The tone of this essay seems to be a helpless tone where the narrrator seems helpless as he speaks because he is picked on by the natives and also by his situation with his morals and the elephant.
