1.)What message is Fitzgerald trying to get across troughout the whole story and with the outcome of the story? A) I believe the message that he is trying to rela is that of the degrading moral vales at that time and how at that time the American dream wasn't what it really was cut out to be. Throughout the story they cheat, snoke, drink, steal, and lie in pursuit of happiness and love but in the end they all lose. In Gatsby's case he is killed.
2.)Does Gatsby being killed represent anything of that time period? A.) I believ it represents that (high risk high reward) many successful people who got what they wanted were risk takers and put themselves in great danger of their life in order toachieve success which some never did because of the consequences of the risks.
3.) What might have happened have not Gatsby covered for Daisy for hitting Myrtle? A.) I believe this would have change the story completely. Tom would get very mad at Daisy and would leave her and Daisy would get back together with Gatsby for good and Myrtle's husband would have killed Tom instead of Gatsby.
4.) Why does Daisy not follow through with leaving Tom and cave in? A.) I believe this was for a couple of reasons. One was that shewas so scard of Tom and that he might hurt her. Also Daisy was probably a little cofused abut who she loves and feels bad when Tom gives his speel about loving her and carying hr over water, so she caves out of fear and pity.
