I believe that at this point in the story it's safe to say that Mr. McMurphy is getting the best of the rivelry between him and the nurse. This is very evident in they very end of Part two. where McMurphy starts to watch the world series and the nurse turns the t.v off but he continues to watch the t.v as if it is still on and it eventually gets the other patients to pull up chairs and do the same. " Chief Bromden narrates in the very last sentence of part one: "If somebody'd of come in and took a look, men watching a blank TV, a fifty year old women hollering and squealing at the back of their heads about discipline and order and recriminations, they'd of thought the whole bunch was crazy as loons." I think if mcMurphy got the nurse to sqeal and holler he definitely is winning the rivelry.
Honestly at this point I think the chief is at his craziest or really doped up or both. He's always talking about the fog and at this part towards the end of part one the fog seems to be at its worst as well as his imaginations and dreams. This is eveident in the part where he has the dream I guess about the floor going down and then the wall coming up to revel a big factory type place where one of the chronics then gets gutted. This scene is very wild and makes Chief seem very crazy and in the scene of the meeting that they revote at to watch the world series he says how bad the fog is and its making himseem like he's just floating in space almost.
I don't believe McMurphy's presensce has changed the chief or his narrration that much but in the scene where he raises his hand in the vote to watch the world series the chief does say something about that McMurphy had this sort of force on him almost like he was pulling his arm up. And I believe McMurphy's presence has made the Chief and the other patients stand against the nurse more and stand up for their rights and wahat they want.
At this point I'm definitely cheering for Mr. Randall McMurphy, Chief Bromden, and all the other patients because they are the heroes standing up against the villainous nurse. They are standing up for things that I believe in and sympathize toward.
nice job
