So far in chapters 1-3 I believe that out of the characters identified that Jay gatsby is the hero, Nick Harrawy is the antihero, and Tom Buchanan is the villain. I have come to this conclusion after reading the first part of the assigned reading and learning about all of them.
Aside from Nick's overview in the beginning of the book from what I have read Gatsby seems flawless and definitely the hero. Someone who is talked about so much and is throwing these wnderful crazy parties that everyone loves must be a hero. I believe this is supported in a good way esecially for nick on page 47 talking how Gatsby was so genuine and just by the way he smiled.
Tom Buchanan can definitely be labeled as the villain. Just in these first three chapters there are several instances where he is immoral mean and just the villain. On page 37 where he breaks myrtle's nose, on page13 he is racist which I guess was common at that time but to me at this time is and know one else seems to be, and on pages 24-26 where it talks about myrtle and his affair.
Jordan Baker I believe is the antihero. because she seems to be playing around wit heverybody and dishonest as it talks about her cheating in her golf tournament and we seem to just not agree with her throughout the chapters
I be lieve Nick is definitely a hero. he doesn't seem bad in anyway and right off on page 1 we learn about his good morals and standards he right away comes off as a hero especially as the narrator.
Daisy and Myrtle so far don't seem to fit any of these titles.
